Hi Jaunty Travelers,
Jordan and Bailey here – king and queen of introverted, easy-going, and comfortable vacations!
As newlyweds celebrating our first year of marriage, we’re still navigating our travel style.
But one thing’s for sure: we cherish quiet vacation spots where we can enjoy each other’s company, eat delicious homemade meals, and get comfortable in a cozy vacation rental.
Before we dive into our travel tips, let’s define a few terms:
What is an introvert?
An introvert is a personality trait used to describe someone who gains energy from downtime and spends out energy during social interaction.
Introverts are not necessarily shy or anti-social; they simply need a calm, quiet environment to recharge.
Just in case you are unsure of what an introvert or an extrovert is or what those terms mean, let me explain a little more.
What is the difference between introverts and extroverts?
Introverts recharge by spending time alone, reflecting, and pursuing their thoughts and ideas. They find solace in solitude and often engage in introspective activities.
Conversely, extroverts draw energy from social interactions, group activities, and being around people. They thrive in lively, communal settings.
It’s a misconception that extroverts love people more than introverts. The truth is, these terms simply describe how each type recharges their energy.

How to spot an ‘introvert-friendly’ coffee shop?
- Quiet and calm atmosphere:
Look for coffee shops with a peaceful ambiance – noise level low to moderate. A calm environment is essential for introverts who prefer a serene setting for relaxation or concentration. - Comfortable seating options:
Choose a coffee shop that offers a variety of seating arrangements, including cozy corners, individual tables, and comfortable couches or armchairs, providing a personal space to unwind or work. - Minimal crowds:
Consider visiting less crowded coffee shops or choose off-peak hours for your visits. A less busy coffee shop means more space and less social interaction, which can be more comfortable for introverts. - Soft background music:
A coffee shop that plays soft, ambient music can enhance the relaxing experience. Loud or upbeat music might be distracting or overwhelming. - Friendly, non-intrusive staff:
Friendly staff who respect your space and don’t engage in excessive small talk can make the experience more enjoyable for introverts. - Availability of Wi-Fi and power outlets:
Having access to Wi-Fi and power outlets is a significant plus for introverts who like to read, work, or study in coffee shops. - Natural lighting and pleasant decor:
A well-lit space with natural light and aesthetically pleasing decor can create a comfortable and inviting environment. - Privacy features:
Some coffee shops offer private nooks or booths, which are ideal for introverts who prefer a more secluded spot. - Outdoor seating options:
If you enjoy fresh air and a bit of nature, look for coffee shops with outdoor seating areas, such as patios or gardens, where you can enjoy your coffee in a more open and less confined space. - Quality coffee and food:
While ambiance is crucial, the quality of coffee and snacks is also important. A perfect coffee shop for an introvert should offer a satisfying menu with various choices. - Book-friendly environment:
For those who love to read, a coffee shop that encourages or caters to readers – perhaps with bookshelves or a book exchange corner – can be particularly appealing.
