Snacks for Air Travel

Preparing snacks for airplane travel before getting to the airport is helpful for preparation’s sake, as well as equipping you with nutritious snacks that will keep your adventures pleasant while not grabbing overpriced snacks at the airport.

The scenario

You got up at 4am to arrive at the airport in time for your flight. The line through security was extra long, so you didn’t have time to grab a coffee and breakfast before you had to board your flight. You get to your seat and settle in. As time goes by you start to get hungry. The pretzel pack the flight attendant gave you either didn’t cut it, or you can’t eat gluten in the first place. You wish you had thought ahead to pack something, without depending on the last minute coffee run.

The problem

The truth is, we’ve probably all been in a similar situation.

I don’t know about you, but my idea of vacation is not getting to my destination starving and hangry.

The solution

To solve this is simple. Throw a sustaining snack in your personal item before leaving home.

In the midst of all other packing it can be challenging to come up with something that travels well, tastes good, is satisfying and fits your dietary restrictions (if you have them).

We’ve created a series of snack idea lists covering several dietary labels.

Snack lists

Here are some snack ideas to get you started preparing for your next flight. These are not meant to be exhaustive lists, but kick start you into coming up with ideas that you like and can prepare.
